Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo 1983 Red
handmade resin replica by BBR Models - scale 1:18
After receiving numerous customer inquiries, the 208 GTS Turbo with removable roof was presented in 1983. As with the Coupé version, the changes in optics were relatively limited compared to the 208 GTS. For example, there was a deep front spoiler with five horizontally aligned cooling fins directly under the radiator grille and on the front air vents were installed to increase the air flow in matt black paint.
The cooling element had to have more capacity as the engine warmed up more through the turbocharger. Turbochargers had meanwhile taken their firm place in Formula 1 and the experience gained on the track soon made the leap into series production with the 208 GTB Turbo. The power of this engine came from the radical transformation in the overall nature of the car, giving it extraordinary acceleration levels not expected from a car with such a small displacement.
